About This Chapter
The city begs the king for mercy, but the generals are executed below. The king says that his kingdom is still his, and that he will not allow the city to be taken over by anyone else. He tells the princess that he is coming, but that she will have to follow him. He says that he has found the slaves quarters and that they will fetch a very high price. He asks the king if he has the means to purchase his freedom, and he says that the trade has destroyed the civilization of the city. He reminds the king that he himself has been a slave ever since birth, and says that if he loses, he will challenge him. The courtiers and attendants leave the castle, and the king tells the king to take his time and enjoy himself
