In this chapter, we learn that the students at the school in Phoenix, Arizona, have been instructed not to tell anyone about the strange light that they saw earlier in the day. The students have also been told that the mayor of the school has told his assistant and vice-president that they had no part in the incident. The mayor has also told the assistant that he is concerned about the spread of "vulnerable" germs and that he wants to "break it up" among the students.
