About This Chapter
In this chapter, we are told that the surface of the volcano is not deserted, but that no one is aware of it. We learn that the volcano has been attacked by millions of insects, and that all those who do not comply with the order within the next 24 hours will be transformed into a pool of liquefied goo. We also learn that there is a proto mineral-cloner in a nearby district who will soon be able to make a new body out of this waste material. We are also told that thanks to the trust and faith of the citizens, the fear of the Biophage Virus is no longer a concern. The new life that has begun is protecting a tree, but why would the citizens want to save the lowly human? Did it tell them where difool was hiding? That's all that he can say. They'll figure out a way to get him to talk, and they'll make him transform into what he really is. The master of the metamorphoses awaits, and he'll be much stronger than he thinks. He's armed with a super-nuclear charge, and the bird will lead him to them.
