About This Chapter
The teacher interrupts Henry's soliloquy to tell him that he has already asked him for a favor. He asks him not to go to bed, but instead to kiss him on the lips. Henry refuses, saying that he was asleep. The teacher asks him what he just did, and he says that he just let his guard down and told Henry what he needed to know. He tells the teacher that he had a dream about the scars on his body, and sometimes he had wet dreams because of them. Henry is confused, and the teacher tells him to hurry up and leave. He says that it seems like Henry hasn't understood his situation yet, and that he's been missing the scars for a long time. He wonders if Henry is crazy, and says that maybe he still has time to think things over. He calls him a liar, and asks him why he is shouting so loudly. He also says that the teacher flinches when she hears this, and she says that she used to do this when she was a child. She tells him that it is okay to confess, even if it doesn't mean anything to him. She says that Henry is the one who has been aroused by his student's words. He has lied to her before, she says, and now he has lied again.
