Alek says that he'll be glad to help her, because he likes to read, and this is a good time to do so. He tells Alek that the lady has written him a letter saying that she can't read because she's old, and that he should read the books she has requested, since they're law books. Alek thinks that this is hilarious, since the lady's parents didn't even care that he was old enough to read. He also says that the books are on a shelf, and he'd like to find them, but he can only find Romeo and Juliet on the shelf near the stairs.
