In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named "Thrive" . He is a young man who has just returned from the Crusades. He has just been released from prison and is eager to get back to his normal life. He wants to get his revenge on the "deserving delinquents" who have mistreated him. He tells the young man that he will kill him if he does not comply with his orders. The young man, however, does not want to be killed by a "duper" like himself. He merely wants to eat a good meal.
