In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in the previous chapter. The first person we meet is a young girl named Glyceolate, who has just returned from a trip to Europe. She is very excited to be reunited with her family, especially since she has not seen them in a long time. We are also introduced to her grandmother, who is a seamstress, and her aunt, who works as a nurse. The two of them are very fond of each other, and they are very happy to see each other again. They are also very excited about the upcoming Valentine's Day, which is to be celebrated that very day. The girls decide to make a chocolate "late" , which they call a "colossal chocolate" .
