In this chapter, we learn that Hiroyuki is a "judo freak" and that he is in love with a girl named Igara. We learn that Igara is a member of the local archery club and that she is a student of Hiroyuki's. Hiroyuki has been watching Igara practice, and Igara has come to see him. Igara tells Hiroyuki that she has seen him in his "fresh man" archery outfit, and that it was "love at first sight." Hiroyuki tells Igara that he knew he would notice a "gallant" cheering him, and Hiroyuki says that he thought Igara was "creepy turn." Igara says that she thought he was "about before flinching," and she tells him that she was just "like ing" him. She says that if she can "make that smile mine," she will make him happy. She tells him to go back to the club and "lay off the club leader" , and he tells her to do so. He goes on to say that he has seen Hiroyuki watching the club every day, and it is not true that he would be jealous of a judo "thug" like him. He says that this "really is hope less," and that this is "hope less" because he is afraid that he will not be able to "redeem himself" by making Hiroyuki happy
