He's a little nervous about the test, since he's just had one test in two days, and he wants to know what his score is. Shmoops says he'll help him, but he needs to get at least 80 percent on the test before he can go home. He says he doesn't want to help him "going down the drain" , so he just needs to make it 80 percent , which he does by multiplying the number of days he'd been studying by 2. Then he figures out how to divide the number by 2 and divide it by 80 . That's right, Shmoo, we're going to help you get 80 percent, but you'll have to do it by the time the test is over . We're not going to waste any more time with this, he says, because it's too late.
