In this chapter, we learn that the ancient Chinese city of Mingcheng was the site of an encounter between a group of vampire-humans and a troupe of soldiers. The soldiers were killed in the battle, but the story of the encounter was not told to the general because of the strange wounds suffered by one of the soldiers
