Madame Bovary arrives at the tailor's shop, where she finds Bovary locked up in a workshop. She asks Bovary to help her put on her new dress, but he refuses, saying that he is too busy in his workshop to do so. She tells him to go back to his cabin, and Bovary agrees. He tells her that he has a machine to help him with his wardrobe, but that he will have to wait until he can get back to the workshop.
