In this short scene, the narrator introduces us to a young man named francis, who has just arrived in Paris. He's from France, and he's very excited to meet his new classmates. He tells us that he can speak English, so he'd like to meet some of them anytime. He also says that he wants to be friends with the handsome young man, who's so good-looking. The narrator explains that two days ago, he was still in France, when he came home from school and found that his family had all been cleared out, and that his mother was missing. A suitcase packed with his clothes and a flight ticket with his name on it was all he found. Oh, and a note from his mother saying that she was looking for him and that he should look for his father from now on. Uh-oh, whoa. The teacher's already there, and the narrator asks to speak to her. The girl is kind and gentle, but she's not flirting with the
