About This Chapter
"Half a year later" is the title of the chapter, which opens with the narrator's narration of the events of the previous half-year. The narrator tells us that the baron and his knight have come to visit him. The baron wants to know why the young man has not been spending more time with his family. He tells the narrator that his father wants to see him. He also wants to talk to him about his new business venture, which is an online flower shop. The young man tells his father that the business has been growing rapidly because of the photographer's good work. The old man tells him that it is impossible for a young man to be a brother living off another person. He adds that he will not be able to live off his son. The two men arrive at the food processing factory of the old man's son, who has been sleeping all the way to the factory. The elder man greets his son and tells him to call him "uncle" instead of calling him "father." He tells his son that he looks healthy and that his son's aura is not good. He says that his friend was talking to his son about his business deal, and that the son is not able to join in the conversation. The older man tells the son to bring his father to the shop first, and the two men begin to talk about the business deal. The father says that he is enjoying himself with his sons, and he wants to sign the purchase of the flower shop, which will allow the elder man to buy his son back. The younger son, however, is not interested in signing the purchase. He asks his father if he is hungry, and his father replies that the front of his shirt is wet with saliva.
