This chapter's epigraph comes from a line in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet . It's from the play's opening scene, in which Hamlet asks Juliet if she would like to go to a ball. Juliet replies that she would, but then she realizes that the ball is being held by her husband's grandfather.
