In this chapter, we learn that Otsuchi has gone to play with her uncle, who is also her uncle's brother-in-law. This is not a good sign, because Otohime is supposed to be training her to be a princess, but Otemachi does not seem to be having any of it. Instead, he is playing with his sword, which he has collected from all over the place. Otsino, however, is having none of it, because he is not going to the party with his uncle, and he does not want to be the center of attention. He wants to be alone with his own sword, so he asks the butler to give him the sword. The butler refuses, saying that he has already touched the sword and that it is forbidden to touch women's bodies. He then says that he wants to pierce the sword, but that the blade is not strong enough yet to pierce it
