The narrator tells Mr. Shaw that he is satisfied with the services he has provided him. He says that he has been listening carefully and that he thinks he can learn a great deal from him. The narrator says that she is a clever girl and that she has a unique skill set. He tells her that he knows one of her friends is in love with her and that if he knew, he would make her give up her career. He adds that he hopes that she likes her capabilities rather than her own. Mr.shaw asks why he has come so early, and the narrator replies that he wants to learn more about investing strategies from her. He then apologizes for his rudeness in the past, and apologizes to the narrator for ruining her daughter's blind date
