The scene opens with a soliloquy by Tommo. He tells Tommo that he has always loved him, but that he is now in love with another man. Tommo tells him that he saw him the other day in New York and that he does not seem familiar with him. He asks Tommo what he told him, and Tommo says that he did not tell him anything about his feelings for the other man. When Tommo asks what he should tell him, Tommo replies that he will tell him what he wants to know if he can make sure. He says that they are both "playing team" and that they both like to take it. He then asks if he has to be so "business like" , and he says that if he were in Japan, he would have "sweet dreams" lying next to him . He also asks why he has not been able to see him in a long time, and when he replies that it is because he has been unable to find "new part ners," Tommo wonders if he is being so businesslike. He adds that he would like to know how Tommo feels about looking for "friends with benefits," and he wonders if Tommo has been turned down by the Secret Service. He wonders why Tommo does not tell Tommo how he feels about being "the man he trusts most," and asks if she had said something last year that he found offensive. She replies that she did not, but she adds that she would have liked to find out if he was "into men too," but that it was too much for "a lightweight like him" . She asks him to cheer her up, but he refuses, saying he is still "up for sex," but he is not sure
