The narrator tells us that he's a boy, and that he remembers that the only way out of this place is to live in the open air. He's jealous of the two boys who live there, and he wishes he had a son like them. The narrator says that boys don't really care about clothes, and girls are the ones who get embarrassed. He also says that the one who gets embarrassed is a girl, because she's the only one who doesn't change clothes with the other boys. Oh, and the narrator is wearing a butterfly ribbon, which he thinks is pretty cute. He asks the girl if she'd like to know what happened to him, and she says that he woke up from a fever.
