About This Chapter
In this scene, we learn that the princess has fallen in love with a man named John, who is a member of the royal family. The princess asks John to take her to the town to meet her father, but he refuses, saying that he has fallen for the princess without her knowledge. She tells him that when the curse of enza is lifted, she will go back to her father's house and find a way for the kingdom to return to its former glory. John tells her that he found her after searching for him "far and wide" , and that he is sorry that he failed to protect the princess. He says that his curse has been broken and that his face has returned to normal. He tells his father that the curse has already been lifted, and he asks his father to explain to the others why their faces have turned back to ugly. She says that the other boys have been punished for their sins, and she fears that there is still someone "remaining ugly" in the kingdom
