About This Chapter
In this short scene, the Illustrious tells the audience that he is on his way back to England from the Crusades. He has just returned from the battlefields of the north, where he met the legendary warrior Alphonse of Scandinavia. Illustatrious says that he was a penniless child before he met Alphonses father, who was the legendary King of the Sea. He says that if he had not met the man, he would not have had the chance to return to England. He reminds the audience of three things that they must remember in order to survive. First, they must win every battle. Second, they have to have their strongest weapons, and third, they need to guard their weakest points. He then shows the audience the ship that they are about to board. It is the ship of the famous lord ivarr. The ship is over 800 years old, and its keel is said to have been made from oak.
