Azusa is confronted with the soul－shattering news that she has less than a year to live unless she gets a heart transplant． She finds herself torn between being unable to accept the reality of having to wait for a donor in order to live and coping with her very real fear of death． Compounding her frustration is the easygoing manner of her doctor boyfriend Masayuki， who tries to assuage her fears in his own way． Is a heart transplant simply the transplant of an organ from one person to another？ Does having an illness disqualify a woman from the right to love someone？
