In this chapter, the protagonist tells us that starting today, he'll be his mate. He's supposed to have a day off, but he puts in a full day of work to make up for the time he missed. He tells us he's tired and needs to rest. He reads a story about a ninja fighting with another ninja, and he thinks it's really good. He also tells us a horror story about the family that came to the ninja's home and found all the family's possessions in a state of crimson. The protagonist says he enjoyed the stories he read. The cat is also in the room, and the protagonist says that he can't figure out what the cat is talking about. He says that the cat must be a person, and that he'd be punished if he let the cat go. He adds that he doesn't want to be the only person punished for letting the cat get away. He promises to treasure the story by the hand.
