When they last left off, the narrator realized that he had been recruited by a mysterious katana wielding man, and that he was in a system camp near the school. The narrator was surprised to learn that the mission was a stealth one and that it was being carried out by a core type of darkness. He wanted to prove that he could do it himself, and so he decided to follow the wreckage of the school and follow the four kids who were wandering around. He found that they were led by an elemental, and they separated him from the others first. He was amazed to find that his employer no longer trusted him and that his views were different from the school's. He felt that he would be able to do it on three medallions, one of which was a sensei and two of which were elementals. This made him feel invincible, and he began to feel the power of his new powers.
