This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the comic-book creator. He tells his readers that his story is a "cartoon of imagination" and that he went "a little mad" making it. He thanks his readers for their kind words and wishes them "all the glory" in his comic book. The battle continues and the battle is lost. The comic book creator tells the reader that he has come to the conclusion that the situation is "dreadful" .
