In the fifth period of the novel, Hiroshi knocks on the door of Haruma's dormitory to ask him to bring over his report on the fight between Tomotsu and Haruma. When he does so, he discovers that Haruma and Hiroshi have been fighting, and he is angry that he has not been able to stop them. He tells Haruma that he was expelled from the school for his part in the fight, and that he is still suffering from the effects of the fight
