About This Chapter
In this short scene, we are introduced to Hiroshi's servant, Shu-Tung, who has just returned from his first day at work. He tells us that he has been working very hard at his job, and that he is very tired. He complains about how he has to tell his servant to put his socks into the laundry basket before he can leave the house. When he gets home, he tells his servant that he loves him very much, but that when he is like this, he will not be able to continue to love him. He asks his servant if he is serious, and the servant tells him that he was very upset at work the day before. He says that he had a very hard day at the office, and he is sorry that he did not wake him up earlier. He also says that when they were dating, he even made him eat some of the food that was being prepared by the cook. He is very angry at the fact that the cook is making him eat so much food, but he says that if things had gone differently, he would never have moved into the apartment with him. When the servant asks if Hiroshi is home, the servant says that it is, and then he asks if he has apologized to him properly. The servant says he was thinking of what he could do for the servant, and so he tried to make him dinner. He wants to be free from the cook so that he can eat the food every morning. He begs the servant not to abandon him, and asks if it is true that the cooking is supposed to be a "proposal." The servant replies that it will be a waste to not eat it at the same time as it is being prepared, since it will warm up later. He then asks if yesterday he said that he would make the same thing every day, and
