In this chapter, Shmoop explains that he's sorry he yelled, but he doesn't trust his sister-in-law. She's his fourth brother, he says, and he'd really like to be friends with her. He's not really her brother, but she's her fourth friend. He says they should start thinking of a new living arrangement for her, since she is such a good person. She says she'll have a look at him, and then he'll go. Shmoopers, who's a little confused by this whole thing, says he knows why he is mad at her, but that she'd have a better idea if she thought a little more about it before they started talking. He tells her to have a seat, and she says she does, and that she is sorry for what she has said. She tells him she sprained her ankle on a tennis ball, and it's fine. She asks him to keep his mouth off of her, and when he refuses, she tells him to give her his laptop and leave.
