In this chapter, we learn that the pirates of the ring of seven worlds are planning an attack on the city of Domina. They need to build an army of ships to fight the demons in the city. The captain of the ship tells us that humans are selfish, and that they're willing to sacrifice themselves just so they can save themselves. If they don't sacrifice themselves, he says, they'll be down. He tells the captain to go back to sleep and forget all about what he saw in the field. He doesn't understand why the demolitionists aren't doing anything about it yet. They're greedy, he tells us, and lack principles. He says that they sent him to Domina while the battle for the succession is raging in the clan. He's told the captain that suspicious foreigners have been wandering around the city asking for information about the guild. He asks the captain if it would be honor to have him as a guest aboard his ship, but the captain says that he's just made arrangements for him to be a guest with someone named egemone. He wants to go straight to the port of heliopolis, where the pirates will be able to attack the city from the air. He explains that the alliance of the air merchants' guild, the independent captain's, the demolitionist's guild and the scout's has failed. The alliance's fleet has been able to slow down the progress of the nemo forces. Everyone thinks that it's finally time for negotiations with nemo, but that's insanity.
