Just as Milady and her men are arguing about whether or not to attack the castle again, the city suddenly erupts in violence and chaos. Milady, however, is determined to defend herself and her people. She urges her men to open the door to the city and fight the invaders. She also urges them to avenge Milady's father, who was killed in battle. The meta-robot, who has been transformed into a human head, is horrified by the events of the day. He tells Milady that she has already lost all sense of self and that she may soon lose her planet and her very life. He also tells her that the remaining petro-morphs are changing shape and that Milady has two sentimental passes -- one over the castle and one over her father's body -- and that being small is an advantage for them. They land on the central planet of the Technopope, and Milady wonders where the gap in their defenses is.
