In this short scene, Ren tells the audience that he is to blame for the death of his daughter, Lin. He tells them that Lin was a good child, who asked him to buy her some clothes when she was admitted to the top school. He bought her a dress, but she never returned home that night. Ren says that he had a bad feeling in his gut that night, but he could not bring himself to think of it.
