In this chapter, we learn that Lin and the other students at the school have been quarreling and fighting, and that Zillah has been trying to calm them down. Zillah remembers that Lin wrote a love letter to her when the school started, and he stuck it on the door so that Lin wouldn't wear the flashy clothes that Lin was wearing at the time. He's disappointed that she wrote such a letter, but he can't believe that she would turn him down, especially since he's a model student and the school president. He also thinks that everyone else is just as shameless as he is.
