In this chapter, we learn that the King of the Mings has sent a letter to the Emperor of the People's Republic of China, informing him that his brother, the Duke of Gualtieri, has been captured by a "bad guy" and that the Duke is worried about his brother's safety. The Duke is not worried at all, he says, because the King is the one who is responsible for protecting the kingdom. He tells the group to split up and find out what's going on. He also tells them that the Crown Prince has sent them a letter, saying that brother is safe and that he's worried about the Duke's relationship with the Duke. The group decides to send someone to the palace to make sure that everything's okay.
