At the beginning of the second half of the third act, Max tries to calm down the girl. He tells her that she can do it, but she needs to be careful because she's not a beginner. She's too good for the team, he tells her, and she should try harder. She does try harder, he says, and it doesn't work. She keeps trying harder, and he keeps telling her to keep trying. Finally, she says, "I hate you."
