About This Chapter
When the children are brought in to the school, Yuma asks the principal why they are being punished. Yuma tells the principal that seven years ago, her parents sent her a letter saying that their son had been injured in an accident and that they forgave him for the money he had spent on their childrearing. The child's name is "Yuma" and he was born with a blood type that made him deformed. The principal cuts off the bottom half of the house to make room for the shoes Yuma has brought with him, and Yuma is shocked to find that he looks like he's aged. He asks if the principal thinks they should let the children go, and the principal says that they wouldn't be able to do such a thing since there are so few people in the world who need to be punished. The children are shocked to learn that they have been punished, but Yuma says that she hopes they won't come back, because they've already been punished enough. She tells the children that they'll have to split up the trash into two, so that they can pick up the first one and the second one. She also tells them that the boy who dropped his phone in the house has to pay for repairs, and she takes back the rest of the letter.
