In this chapter, we are told that the battle is over and that the two lovebirds are ready to die. They have been together for 50 years, and they are ready for the end of the world as we know it. They say that they were supposed to be together, but now that the war is over, their love for each other will fade away. They are afraid that if the world is destroyed, they will not be able to love each other anymore. On September 9, 1967, the curtain finally fell on the "war of the stone" and the people rejoiced in the destruction of their world.
