About This Chapter
At the end of the first half, we find out that the score is still 0-0 and that the ref has called a penalty kick. This is the first time that we've seen anyone try to score a goal from the left side of the field, and it's not even a goal. It's just a shot from about 30 yards out, which should be enough to win the game for the home team. We learn that indo defeated him in the inter-high, and that campo learned that the gap between him and taira is so big that he needs to prove himself. He's got to prove that he's more than just a good player, though, and he'll have to do it by using his left foot, which he doesn't use very often. He says that he keeps "tropical fish" , but that he has a deadly venom that can kill his opponent in "an instant" . The only thing separating him from his fish is that he possesses a "deadly venom," which means that he can strike his opponent dead in the blink of an eye . That's the only thing that keeps him from being a great player, he says. He has "precision and reliability," but he also has the "raw talent" of an idiot , and "all things to achieve," but there's only one thing that makes him stand out above all of them: he has the ability to drill a "corner stone" into the opponent's goal. He yells at maru to hold onto the corner stone and yell it at him, and maru yells back that this is the time for them to win.
