About This Chapter
In the aftermath of the victory, Hayato laments that he didn't scare the living daylights out of his opponent. He feels that he's done a good job, and that he deserves a hat trick from a free kick. Hayato thinks that the only thing that matters in the end is who gets to pass to. He's not a hero, and he doesn't want to go home with a hero's name on his chest. He thinks that if he loses the game, he owes Hayato one. If he loses, he'll owe Hayato the first goal he scored in the game. He wonders why Hayato is giving up the second goal for the captain, and wonders why he'd want to dedicate the third goal to the captain. He says that if Hayato loses this game, then he owes him one. He asks if he can see Hayato's face after the game is over, and Hayato says that he was "in a daze" by that point. He tells Hayato to stand on the wall and stare at his feet, because the game has just ended. He knows that he has to win this thing, he says, because he knows that Hayato has worked so hard to get to this point.
