About This Chapter
On the fourth day after his father's death, Tsukushi is playing with his friends when his mother, Milady, comes to pick him up. Milady asks him if he's going to go to school, and he says he'll go to the school that has the best soccer team in town. Tsukamoto is worried, but Milady assures him that everything will be just as it always has been. She tells him that he deserves the same chance as any other kid, and that she can sell the house if he gets into trouble. He thanks Milady for helping him, and Milady says she'd like to be with him, too, but she can't because she's worried about money. She says that when her father died, she saw him crying and decided that she wanted to be his daughter. She adds that her father was always there for her, always looking out for her and trying to keep her safe from danger. He never threw bells or jingle bells at her, because he knew she was safe. She asks Milady if she did anything special for her son, and she says she didn't, but that she'll join the school's soccer team.
