About This Chapter
Back at the hotel, Gulliver tells his mom and dad that he's glad they were able to escape. He wants to know if they had spies on them, or satellites trained on them from space. He also wants to make sure that they're safe, because his mom's going to try to sneak up on them if they get back late. Gulliver says that he doesn't know what happened to him, but that something stung him. He says that by the time they got to the highway, he was feeling "woozy" . He's not sure if it was a spring loaded into the steering wheel or something else, but he says that it stung him badly. He asks what happened, and the answer is that the guy tried to kill them. Gulliver wants to run away, but the guy could have let him get killed. He wishes that he had a gun so that he wouldn't have to go through with it. Gulliver tells the cops that the guys trying to kill him and his mom are "shades" , and that they shouldn't go with them. He tells them to shut up and leave him alone in the back of the car, because he broke his heart trying to save his mom. Gulliver promises to be back soon.
