About This Chapter
Dr. Squod explains that he and his team have been on the moon for several months. They've been collecting samples of the moon's surface and cooling them to extract an isotope of an unknown substance called "helium" from the water. They hope to learn more about the moon and its inhabitants in the coming years. They were created by a giant meteorite that hit the moon about four-and-a-half billion years ago. The scientists hope to use this information to understand how the moon came to be, and how it has changed over the years. The scientist also explains that they tried to save the colony last year, but that there's no hope of doing so now that the movie "Nobody Cares" has been made and nobody cares about the colony. He tells Squod to go back to the shuttle and tell the chief administrator to make sure that the landing pad is closed off immediately.
