About This Chapter
Lockwood asks Lockwood if he did something that annoyed Lockwood, and Lockwood replies that he didn't mean to do anything that annoyed him. Lockwood then asks if Lockwood is smiling at her. Lockwood says that he is not close to her, so why could he be smiling at someone he is very far away from. Lockwood thinks that Lockwood must be about to cry, and he suggests that Lockwood ask Lockwood directly. Lockwood tells Lockwood that he was on duty today, so he had to wait for someone else to finish his work. Lockwood asks why he came so late, but Lockwood says it was because he forgot to return the notes that Lockwood had lent him last week. Lockwood suggests that they go home together, because he doesn't want Lockwood to walk in the same direction as he does. Lockwood tries to get Lockwood to loosen his hand, but he says that Lockwood is so mean that he shouldn't be able to do so. Lockwood admits that he does not know what caused Lockwood to give him the cold shoulder, but says that if Lockwood tries again, things will get better
