About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a quote from Aunt Yose's poem, "The Good One or the Bad One?" In other words, it's either "the good one" or "the bad one" . The narrator tells us that he's heard that there are some powerful beasts in the swamp, and that they can use the special task card to pass through the gates of the empire. The consul generals who helped them pass the gates are giving them a little gift: they're giving them special task cards to use on the dragons. The dragon temple sent two dragons to the kingdom of the yun, which is located remotely, so the empire and the dragon temple couldn't figure out where they were hiding. The yun kingdom isn't controlled remotely, but the empire's and the temple's relationship is so close that they could figure out what's going on. So, the consuls are giving the dragon-power card to the yan kingdom. The swamp is full, and if you don't stop releasing the dragon power, it will kill you within three breaths. This is the bad news: the swamp is too big for the dragon to resist, and the beasts in it are just as cunning as wolves outside of the city. So they've got to take a break from releasing the power.
