About This Chapter
The sun is dying, and tenka is sentenced to hang by hanging. Tenka says that he will never forgive his brother for not telling him about the explosion. He tells him that the government has put out a public announcement that tenka was sentenced to death because of the explosion, and that he should not be arrested just because he decided to become a member of the Kumo family. The minister of the royal court says that the execution should be soon, but tenka refuses to listen to him. He asks why he didn't say anything when he realized that he was the vessel. He says that when he learned that they were assembled to hunt, he was more excited about the task than he was about the job at hand. When he learned they were going to be hunting or thudochi, he became more excited than he had been about the mission. He reminds him that they are children, and asks him to let go of them if he won't listen to them. He is sorry that they object to the execution, but he says that there is no way that he would commit such a crime. He begs the family to forgive him for taking his leave before the others.
