After a while, Jane is surprised to find that the curse has been set in motion. She asks the doctor if they can use some medicine to treat her father's injury. The doctor says they can, but Jane's father is seriously ill, so they need to wait until he's better. Jane thanks the doctor for his kindness, and the two of them head off to the forest. Jane scolds her son for stealing her things, and tells him to return them if he dares to do so. Jane promises that they'll give him anything he wants as long as they lift his curse.
