This chapter's epigraph comes from Sophia's soliloquy, in which she laments the fact that the two camps have been fighting for a "trivial matter" . The two camps were seriously injured in the fight, but Prince luka only "punished our vesperan what ?! . . i didnt kill anyone, nor did I do anything wrong" , she says. She then goes on to say that Jimmy's dad has always been "respectful" to Prince alex, and that he loved Jimmy so much that he would "commit suicide and leave Jimmy alone " . She also says that the guards should put "luka in prison" so that no one can approach him without his permission. Alex is also aware of the situation, and so he takes "luka into custody" to "facilitate the follow-up investigation" of the suicide. He says that he will "pacify my people first" and that "luka is trembling" because he has a "hard time trusting" someone.
