About This Chapter
From that day on, the strange man would come to the house and bring flowers and food. The strange man talked about himself, and it was infuriating to the dragon. He said that he wanted to become a part of the company, but the man did not accept his invitation. The dragon said that if the man had accepted his invitation and become his, he would be free to do whatever he wanted. He promised that he would see the man again when he was free. He was afraid that the man would be killed, but he did not want to be in danger. He wanted to help someone out of affection, and this was the blessing of the dragons. If the man were to die, the dragon would kill him again, and they would become friends. It was hard to understand, he said, because it was hard for him to kill the man and be free from the curse. He could kill him, and be freed of the curse, however, he turned him down and they became friends. This is the curse of dragons, he says, and he will always know about it. He says that even if he has to fall asleep again, he will know that he is safe. He tells the man that he will have dinner with him after he finishes his work this afternoon. He asks if he would like to watch a movie with him. The man says that he does not have a friend, so they can talk about his friend's night out. They decide to have dinner tonight, and the man says he will not see the movie.
