About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that there's a lot going on in the world. He tells us about an accident on a tower crane, which injured a guy named Ming, who was trying to help his nephew. Ming sent the narrator to pay for the guy's medical bill, but the narrator says he's not going to do that, since Ming is from a big city. The narrator says Ming can get some rest by going to a nearby free-for-all called "Gallup Square" , where a local guy named "Mr.wang" will be holding a free massage session. Ming wants to know what's wrong, and the narrator tells him to take Ming to the hospital to get an X-ray. Ming says he heard that the narrator sprained his waist, so Mr.wang got him a massage therapist to help him. Ming asks if the narrator is playing dumb, and then he asks if Ming is in pain, and if he wants to talk. Ming tells the narrator not to talk, but to let him be. Ming doesn't recognize the narrator, so the narrator tries to find out more about Ming's condition. Ming seems to be in a lot of pain, but he keeps quiet.
