About This Chapter
In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character, a young man who's about to enter the university's literary program. He's the kind of guy who'd be psyched to be a part of a famous literary institution like the New York Times or the Los Angeles Times . We learn that he's a student at King's College in London, and he'd like to study Latin at the university. We're also introduced to some of the other students who'll be joining the program in the coming weeks. They're all eager to get their hands on a copy of the novel they've just read. One of the students, a guy named Alphonse, is psyched to get his hands on the novel, but he can't seem to figure out how to get it out. The other students are psyched, too, but they're not sure how to do the math part. The teacher, a man named Dr. Manette, tells the students that they'll have to do some more math to get the numbers they need to know about Latin.
