About This Chapter
The scene opens with the two of them in the middle of a game of dice. The two men have broken the dice, and they're even. They're not sure what's going on, but the two men decide to leave the dice in the game. They don't want the other man to get drunk and injure himself, so they decide to bring him back to the palace, where they'll be able to get him drunk and marry him. He's not going to invite her to a drink, though, because he's afraid she's too shy to show up at the wedding, so he dropped the idea of having a drink with her. He doesn't know why she would want to come to the wedding without his invitation, but he'll have to congratulate her on being back in the palace. He asks if she is blaming him for stealing her from him, and she says yes. He tells her that he was going to give her 300k back, but then he heard the noise, and he decided to bring her back. He says that he didn't have time to say anything, and that the palace has no way of bringing her back in time for the wedding. He wants to get her drunk and bring her home, but they've got no way to do that. They both know that the emperor is working for the north, and the emperor told him that his mother had been killed by the commander of the northern army. So the emperor wants to kill his mother, he says, so that he can get revenge on her. But he'd rather kill the emperor than marry a concubine. He also says that if the emperor really loved her, he wouldn't marry her so quickly. The only way to stop this is to kill yourself.
