About This Chapter
In this short scene, baekeun tells the audience that the king left a note for the princess because he was hurrying. He tells her that he is going to the south in order to quell the riot. He says that he still loves her, and that he will tell her his true feelings when he gets back. The king says that if the first prince deposes the earl , the queen will lose her support, but if the prince sides with earl, the king will have a public statement that the prince favors the nobility. The duke of kairam has also sided with the nobility, and he is also opposed to the marriage between the prince and the princess. The first prince says he will crush the rebels or the rioters if they try to harm him. If they are good people, he says, he will listen to their requests and opinions and release the hostages.
